This website is run and managed by the Yemeni Community in the Kingdom of the Netherlands (referred to in these terms as “the community”, or as “we” and “us”). The community is a voluntary non-profit body set up under Dutch law and officially registered in the Netherlands as “De Jemenitische Gemeenschap Vereniging in Nederland” (Article 4 of the statute), represented and managed by its board. The board is responsible for running and managing the website, for everything published on it (news, articles and events), and for the accounts and data processing on it; under the statute, the board’s public relations and media officer oversees the website.
The website is free and non-profit: it sells nothing, accepts no payments and shows no advertising. Its purpose is to introduce the community, publish its news, articles and events, and make it possible to get in touch with it. You can read the published content without an account; to comment on news items you need an activated account.
As the statute lays down, the community and its resources, this website included, are not used for any political, party or regional activity, for personal purposes, or for anything other than the aims they were set up for (Articles 5 and 56).
Creating an account on the website is free, but it does not make you a member of the community’s general assembly or give you a member’s rights. Membership of the community is granted under the conditions of the statute; you will find its conditions and rights on the About us page.
Comments are open on news items only, to people signed in with an account whose email address has been verified. Only your display name appears next to your comment; your email address is not shown to anyone.
The rights to your comments remain yours; by posting them, you give the community free, non-exclusive permission to show them on the website. You are responsible for the content of what you write.
Comments are published straight away; the staff team reviews them after publication and removes anything that breaks these terms. Every comment that is reported is reviewed.
Anyone, with or without an account, can report a comment to us that they believe is illegal or breaks these terms, using the form below, in line with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). We confirm that we have received the report with a number, review it carefully and without undue delay, and tell the person who reported it about our decision if they left their email address.
The point of contact for users and for public authorities about comments and reports is the community itself, through the details given at the top of this page. How we process data in reports and comments is explained in the privacy policy.
This form is open to everyone, whether or not you have an account.
We take care that what we publish is accurate, but it is for general information only. It is not legal, medical or financial advice, nor advice on residence and immigration matters. Always check official information with the relevant authorities, such as the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) and the municipality where you live.
Links to other websites are for convenience only; we are not responsible for their content or policies.
The rights to the community’s logo and to the website’s texts and design belong to the Yemeni Community in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or to the owners named. The sources and licences of the photos are listed on the photo credits page. You may share a link to any page or quote a short passage from it, naming the source; any other use needs written permission.
Registering for events through the website is free and subject to the number of places available. The dates, times or venues of events may change, or events may be cancelled; we let registered participants know by email. We do not publish photos from events in which people can be recognised without their consent.
We aim to keep the website available and secure, but we cannot guarantee that it will work without interruption or be free of errors. The community may change the website or suspend any part of it, temporarily or permanently.
To the extent permitted by Dutch law, the community is not liable for indirect damage resulting from the use of the website or from being unable to use it, for content posted by users, or for external websites. This clause does not exclude liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
The website was designed and technically developed for the community and then handed over to it; since the handover, its board has managed the website entirely: publishing, content, accounts and data. The website’s developer is not a party to these terms, does not run the website, and bears no responsibility for its operation, content, management decisions or data processing after the handover.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. We aim to settle any dispute amicably through the contact form; if that is not possible, it will be brought before the competent Dutch court. These terms do not affect any right the law gives you as a consumer.
We may change these terms when needed; the date of the last change is shown at the top of the page. If you continue to use the website after a change, you agree to the amended terms. We announce significant changes on the website or tell account holders about them by email.
The community is a non-profit organisation officially registered in the Netherlands. It is represented by its board, which is responsible for the website and its content.
