What the board does
The general assembly elects it for two years by secret ballot. It runs the community’s affairs, carries out the statute and the general assembly’s decisions, and reports to the general assembly every year on its activities and final accounts.
Tasks
- Achieving the community’s aims set out in the statute, and carrying out the statute and the general assembly’s decisions.
- Setting the community’s general policy, its internal rules, its programmes and its operational plans.
- Organising national, cultural, educational, training, legal, sports and arts activities.
- Preserving the national and cultural identity of the community’s members.
- Reviewing the financial statements, approving the estimated budget and preparing the annual report for the general assembly.
- Informing members about the Dutch laws and rules that concern them, and advising them.
- Building relations with civil society organisations and associations in the Netherlands for the benefit of the community’s members.
- Keeping in touch and coordinating with the Yemeni embassy and the ministry to solve members’ problems and meet their needs.
